The Miracle Miler, Volume 2, Number 1

Greetings to the Miracle Mile, its merchants, professionals, and business people. one and all! I am honored to have a few words freatured at this site. For this innagural publication, I'll concentrate on an introduction.

I am Clem Lee, your representative on the Stockton City Council. I was elected in November 2004 and I succeed Larry Ruthstaller. I previously spent fourteen years as your representative on the SUSD Board of Education.

My family and I reside on North Commerce Street one block east of The Mile. By day I am a teacher in Manteca Unified School District. My wife, Tina, is a financial consultant with A.G. Edwards, and our son, Peter is a sixth grader attending Hazelton School.

We LOVE the Miracle Mile. We frequent many of its shops and restaurants, and we are excited by the Avenue's physical improvements. Beyond that, due the the commendable efforts of your hard working representatives on the current and previous MMIA board of directors, we are more optimistic than ever about the Mile's economic vialbility and success.

Either Tina or I attend you monthly MMIA board meetings. We will work hard to help The Mile continue to shine as Stockton's truly unique commercial venue. We have been very warmly received, and we have already gone to work on issues affecting your business and the surrounding neighborhoods.
